stratumctl admin quotas

Manage install-wide quota defaults and per-project overrides (bootstrap-admin)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas [flags]

Approve a quota request (writes the project’s limit)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas approve <request-id> [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas approve qr-4f8k2m7x9p
stratumctl admin quotas approve qr-4f8k2m7x9p --reason "approved for the Q4 launch"
Flag Type Default Description
--reason string Recorded on the request and in the audit event

Clear a project’s override (back to the install default and its organization’s values)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas clear [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas clear --project p-team-a --dimension network.vpcs.count
Flag Type Default Description
--dimension string Dimension key (required)
--project string Project ID (required)

Clear an organization’s ceiling (the org’s values can then only lower)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas clear-org [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas clear-org --org o-acme --dimension compute.instances.count
Flag Type Default Description
--dimension string Dimension key (required)
--org string Organization ID (required)

List the install-wide quota defaults (what a project without an override gets)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas defaults [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas defaults
stratumctl admin quotas defaults --output json

Deny a quota request

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas deny <request-id> [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas deny qr-4f8k2m7x9p --reason "over the budget for this project"
Flag Type Default Description
--reason string Recorded on the request and in the audit event

List registered quota dimensions with their defaults

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas dimensions [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas dimensions
stratumctl admin quotas dimensions --output json

Show or switch quota enforcement (install-wide and per service)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement [flags]

Show whether quotas are enforced, install-wide and per service

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement get [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement get
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement get --output json

Switch quota enforcement for the install, or for one service

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set on|off|inherit [flags]

Switch quota enforcement on or off, e.g.:

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set off
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set on --service compute
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set inherit --service compute

Off: every limit in scope reads unlimited and nothing is refused; usage is still counted. A service’s own setting wins over the install-wide one; “inherit” removes it. Rate limits are not affected.

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set off
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set on --service compute
stratumctl admin quotas enforcement set inherit --service compute
Flag Type Default Description
--service string One service (e.g. compute, network, dns); omitted = the install-wide switch

List quota requests (pending by default)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas requests [flags]
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas requests
stratumctl admin quotas requests --status all --project p-team-a
Flag Type Default Description
--org string Only this organization’s
--project string Only this project’s
--status string pending pending | approved | denied | canceled | all

Set a project’s override for one quota dimension

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set [flags]

Set one override, e.g.:

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set --project p-abc --dimension network.vpcs.count --limit 20

0 denies all creates on that dimension. “clear” removes the override: the project then gets the install default again, with its organization’s allocation or per-project default on top (see “stratumctl orgs quotas”).

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set --project p-team-a --dimension network.vpcs.count --limit 20
Flag Type Default Description
--dimension string Dimension key, e.g. network.vpcs.count (required)
--limit int 0 Limit (>= 0; 0 denies) (required)
--project string Project ID (required)

Set the install-wide default of one quota dimension

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set-default [flags]

Set what every project without its own override gets, e.g.:

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set-default --dimension network.vpcs.count --limit 10

-1 is unlimited, 0 denies all creates. –reset restores the built-in value. Per-project overrides (“set”) still win.

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set-default --dimension network.vpcs.count --limit 10
stratumctl admin quotas set-default --dimension network.vpcs.count --reset
Flag Type Default Description
--dimension string Dimension key, e.g. network.vpcs.count (required)
--limit int 0 New default (-1 unlimited, 0 denies)
--reset bool false Restore the built-in default

Set an organization’s ceiling on one dimension (delegates it to the org)

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set-org [flags]

The ceiling bounds the sum over the organization’s projects, and lets the org admins divide it:

Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set-org --org o-abc --dimension compute.vcpus --limit 64
Terminal window
stratumctl admin quotas set-org --org o-acme --dimension compute.instances.count --limit 200
stratumctl admin quotas set-org --org o-acme --dimension db.storage_bytes --limit 10TiB
Flag Type Default Description
--dimension string Dimension key (required)
--limit amount The ceiling: an integer or a size like 10TiB (required)
--org string Organization ID (required)
